Chris Ajamiseba

Chris relocated to Houston in 2022 to be closer to her grandchildren and became involved with Katy Responds after her son, Michael, introduced her to the organization. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in education, senior care, and public health throughout Southeast Asia and the Southern U.S., Chris takes the time to truly know each resident, building personal relationships and walking alongside them through every step of their home repair journey, from beginning to end. Her heart for service was deeply shaped by the kindness and support she experienced in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, inspiring her to give that same care to others. Known for speaking truth with compassion, Chris is a steady advocate for residents, making sure they feel heard, supported, and cared for throughout the entire process.

With a heart for service, Karl strives to be the hands and feet of Christ by working alongside homeowners and using his own hands to help restore safe and stable homes. He also leads the construction portion of Katy Responds’ volunteer events, guiding volunteers as they come together to serve their neighbors through hands-on home repairs. Outside of Katy Responds, Karl volunteers with Katy Men’s Baptist and Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children and brings his faith into his work by offering prayers of gratitude and intention on-site.
